Pastor Betty Krafft was born in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Spokane in 1955 with her family. She is an alumna of Ferris High School.
Krafft has traveled the world! After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in German and a teaching certificate from the University of Washington, she worked for the summer in Cologne, Germany. She subsequently joined the U.S. Navy, serving primarily as a telecommunications officer. Duty stations included: Washington, D.C. (Pentagon, 2 tours); London, England; school in Biloxi, Miss.; Exmouth, Australia; Keflavík, Iceland; and Stuttgart, Germany. She also served three years as operations officer onboard the USS Ajax, deployed twice to the Indian Ocean with port calls in Subic Bay, Philippines; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Singapore; Diego Garcia; and Sydney, Australia. Krafft retired from the Navy in 1994.
Krafft graduated from Lutheran School of Theology (Chicago) in 1999 followed by internship in Paynesville, Minn.

Krafft’s interests include: theology discussion, Bible study, reading (especially murder mysteries), traveling, making enamel jewelry (especially crosses), going to the theater.
